ACF Consultants offers real-time simulation solutions to train the City’s top traders. The company operates from London and New York and teaches the world's leading banks and financial institutions how to harness deals in the real world on a real trading floor. Our challenge was to get this worldwide company greater media exposure in titles read by their powerful customers and potential customers.
Idea
Who could resist a challenge? To a journalist understanding the technology might be daunting, but we felt that if we urged them to trade places, and dare to become a ‘Banker For a Day’ they’d see how vital training can be in this multi-billion pound industry.
“Simulation models are the only way forward. The economy and the banks can no longer afford anything else,” our client Dr Lawrence Galitz, director and founder of ACF told the media.
Intrepid journalists took up the offer, getting into the psyche of the very traders they write about, and experiencing the thrill of trading millions of pounds in what we were calling “the closest possible real-life trading experience” ever created.
Results
Square Mile Magazine, one of those who took up the challenge, ran the story as its front page lead. Reporter Richard Mackney, who underwent the challenge, emerged a stronger braver, man, and was sufficiently evangelical about his experiences to deliver a full three pages. Meanwhile, the wider campaigns are bringing in coverage in titles such as Money Market, Investor Today, FT.com/Alphaville, MoneyNews.co.uk, Economy-News.co.uk, MyIntroducer.com, TheBizSense.com and others.
