Evolutions
I Want To Be Postman Pat...
Client
Evolutions supplies young adults with one-to-one bespoke interview training and guidance, and an interview training simulation course called The Edge, based on psychometric profiling techniques and role-play with actors. Applicants’ success rates increase by up to 70% as a result of getting The Edge...
Understandably, therefore, Evolutions wanted an edge for itself when it came to PR, and turned to Results PR to deliver the advantage required.
Idea
In a market where it’s difficult to grab headlines, we decided to use the humorous to make a serious point, hijacking a recent survey in which 28% of seven year-olds said their aim on achieving adulthood would be to become a super-hero. Superman was the most popular superhero of all, though a surprising 8% of respondents admitted they aspired to nothing more than becoming Postman Pat.
Broadening out from these statistics, we quoted the client as believing the government squanders “millions of pounds” guiding pupils into jobs they will “never do”.
Results
Our press release, “Government Splashes out on Generation of Super Heroes”, produced an initial salvo of coverage including a spread in the Daily Mail, which posed the question “Are Careers Child’s Play?”. Specialist coverage included titles such as GradPlus.com and GairRhydd.com, and the client has also enjoyed extensive pieces in Management Today, in print and online, which has certainly given Evolution the necessary edge.
